Our awards are serial numbered for verification and are based on service to the Presidency, country, and world.
The Order of Zeal dates back to fidelity & honor in the competition of the ancient Olympics. Men and women awardees are given a wild olive wreath upon their heads to wear and a white luxury toga with a platinum and rhodium clasp. Olympia, Greece has been growing such since the 8th century B.C.
The United States Presidential Service Center Distinguished Service Medal (DSM) is one of the highest medals awarded. The requirements are strict and a Droit Moral clause accompanies the serial number assigned to all recipients. Controlled, private, serial numbered awardees - these are not US military issued medals.
In 2003, the President’s Council on Service and Civic Participation founded the President’s Volunteer Service Award to recognize the important role of volunteers in America’s strength and national identity. This award honors individuals whose service positively impacts communities in every corner of the nation and inspires those around them to take action, too.

The Afghan Freedom Medal was issued in 2006 by the government of Afghanistan as a celebration and award of all coalition forces defending the country. At present, its wear for US military personnel has not been approved on the American uniform. Still, it is allowed to be accepted by combat personnel and other service units personally from the people of Afghanistan. You may see it in a rack of medals or being worn on suits. Additionally, several families have been listing it in obituaries of loved ones as portions of wills, specific requests, and in the dignity of accepting a foreign award - which is a great honor. As of 2020, the medal is still difficult to purchase from antique militaria & uniform shops. This may change soon, pending production.
Wear of the award on coalition members' uniforms is an action item, a legislative issue that the USPSC Iraq Commitment Medal Committee is working on since 2018. The feeling of many members is also to help the veterans of service in the war in Afghanistan. They have similar experiences and believe in supporting one another.

The United States Government, State Governments, Veterans Organizations, private mints, and individuals have a long tradition of striking commemorative medals to recognize and honor specific military victories, historical events, and military service to our great Republic. Until the 20th Century, the United States did not issue military service medals recognizing service by veterans in the different wars, battles, campaigns or other significant military events. Commemorative medals reflect typical American ingenuity and spirit, where local government, veterans associations, and private leadership step forward to facilitate honoring service and deeds the federal government fails to recognize. Although unofficial in nature and usually struck by private mints or associations, commemorative medals provide a very tangible memento to honor all veterans and families for their service and sacrifice. This Commemorative medal honors those who received an honorable discharge from any U.S. military service.
The Cold War Victory Medal is currently being presented on stage by Trustees and Board Members of The US Presidential Service Center.
In accordance with section 1084 of the National Defense Authorization Act for the fiscal year 1998, Congress commended the members of the Armed Forces and civilian personnel who contributed to the historic victory in the Cold War and authorized and instructed the Secretary of Defense to prepare an official certificate recognizing the Cold War service of qualifying members. The medal is presently an official medal on the uniform of the U.S. National Guard for the U.S. states of Louisiana and Texas and in ribbon form only by the State of Alaska.
It may be worn, however, by any member of the United States military or civilian employees of the federal government on a suit in large or mini-format who served in their positions honorably during the years of the Cold War, defined as lasting from September 2, 1945, to December 26, 1991. The issue of the medal is a legislative issue the USPSC supports.

A child who misses their parent, a spouse still wondering, a parent that lost a child too so in war or peacetime - all of these situations and more are cause to celebrate one's service and honor them. In so doing, we may bring consolation and love to a family.

Dine with us and meet at the Four Seasons in Wolfgang Puck's CUT in LA. Join us in Chinatown, SF, Vegas, or NYC at Bloom's Tavern on June 30th! Many of us, as fellow Rotarians, visited Charlotte, NC, in May 2024 during the District 7680/7690 Convention. Over 400 attended the Awards Dinner.
We invented the group of awards that celebrates the indomitable spirit to become anything you want to be - and at any age. President Biden became the POTUS at 79 years old and Captain Sir Thomas Moore wasn't knighted by the Queen until the age of 100. All too often we noticed the awards are always for the 40 under 40 and anyone at the age of 50 or more was left by the roadside.
Rather than encroach on those strong award programs and recreate the same thing all over again - we decided to build a whole new program for an untapped font of wisdom and powerful achievement. The following award programs were approved in 2008. By 2015 they had been designed, reviewed in committee, and slated for working groups with designs and programming in 2020. Only several occasions, portions of the program were rejected and referred back to the working groups. Due to the cancellation of many events in 2020, the program began in 2021.
